The part nobody can copy

Every brand says “farm-fresh.”
Ask one of them for the address.

Here's ours. We bought these cows, we feed them, we pay the vet bills, and when one stops giving milk she stays on. That's a gaushala. Everyone else has a supply chain.

Owning the herd changes what we're allowed to put in writing

Five things we can print. Five things most of the category can't.

Goseva
Most A2 ghee in India
The cows
Ours. 250 cows at our own gaushala in Jasdan.
Milk bought from a collection centre or a farmer network.
Traceability
Batch number, churn date and milk-to-ghee ratio printed on your jar.
A claim on the label. Nothing that identifies your jar.
Lab testing
Every batch, before it is packed. Report linked from the jar.
Annually or once, if published at all.
The method
Cultured curd, hand-churned, finished over wood fire, small daily batches.
Often cream-separated and still sold as bilona.
If it is impure
Full refund, and we pay for the lab test.
Standard returns — unopened, inside a window.

Don't take our word for it.
Ours is worth exactly what everyone else's is.

Four things you can check in your own kitchen before you trust anybody. Including us.

01

The palm test

A spoonful should melt from body heat alone. Ghee that sits solid on your skin has vegetable fat in it.

02

The iodine test

Add a few drops of tincture iodine to melted ghee. Blue-black or violet means starch. This catches starch and not much else — a lab is the only definitive answer.

03

The winter test

Real ghee turns grainy and hard in winter, soft in summer. Ghee that looks identical in January and June has been standardised.

04

The aroma test

Open it and breathe in. Curd-churned smells faintly of smoke and cultured milk. Cream-separated smells of not very much.

We publish these because we expect to pass them. Run them on our jar. Then run them on the one already in your kitchen.

₹2,599 sounds like a lot until you divide it

30 litres

of Gir milk make one litre of ghee

A Gir cow gives about 8 litres a day. A crossbred gives three times that. That's the entire reason ₹700 “pure desi ghee” doesn't add up — the milk alone costs more than the jar sells for.

₹43 a day

for a family of four

About 17 ml a day, roughly 60 days a jar. Less than a cutting chai. You're not buying a ₹2,599 jar, you're buying two months of not thinking about it.

If any lab finds it impure, you get every rupee back.

Send your jar to any NABL-accredited lab in India. If it fails an adulteration test, we refund the full amount and cover the testing fee. No returning the jar, no photographs, no seven-day window.

Questions people ask first

Why so much more than a ₹700 jar?

Because 30 litres of milk go into one litre of ghee, and a Gir cow gives about 8 litres a day. Do the arithmetic on a ₹700 jar and the milk alone costs more than the retail price. Either the cows are not Gir, or it is not curd-churned, or something has been added.

What does “we own the herd” actually mean?

The cows are our property, at our gaushala in Jasdan. We are not buying from a collection centre or a farmer network. Almost everyone in this category does one of those two — which is fine, but it means they are trusting somebody, and you are trusting them to have trusted well.

How do I know this jar is what you say it is?

Batch number on the jar, same number on this page, with its churn date, ratio and lab report. If they do not match, it is not ours.

Can I visit?

Yes.

Why does my jar look different from last time?

It should. Ghee goes grainy and hard in winter, soft and golden in summer, and the colour shifts with what the cows are grazing. Ghee that looks the same all year has been standardised.

Is this the bilona method?

Yes — curd-churned, not cream-separated, finished over wood fire. It is sixth on this list on purpose. Every brand in India claims bilona now and most of them are telling the truth. It is the baseline, not the reason to buy.

Batch GS-0412. Churned 2 September in Jasdan. Lab report linked, refund if any lab disagrees.

That's everything we know about this jar. Now you know it too.
